Scene From the Sidewalk
By: Sam Majeske

There’s a storefront
with windows
that fog, like everybody’s
in there fucking
out their frustration.

A man stands outside
smoking a marlboro red,
heels on the edge of the curb,
rocking himself back
and forth searching
for the comfort
of falling backwards
into traffic.
